Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Happy Lam Media. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website, services, and any content we produce. By accessing our site or hiring us for services, you agree to these terms.

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all visitors, users, and clients (“you,” “your”) of Happy Lam Media (“we,” “us,” “our”).

 

By using our website or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

 

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our site or services.

2. Services Provided

Happy Lam Media offers video production, editing, livestreaming, drone services, social media advertising, podcast studio rental, wedding videography, real estate media, and related creative services.

 

Specific deliverables, pricing, and timelines will be outlined in project proposals, statements of work, or written agreements between you and Happy Lam Media.

3. Booking & Payments

3.1 Booking Confirmation

A project, shoot, or studio session is not confirmed until a deposit or written approval is received.

 

3.2 Deposits

Most projects require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure the date and begin pre-production.
Wedding bookings may require higher deposits due to limited availability.

 

3.3 Final Payment

Final payment is due upon delivery of the final video files, unless otherwise stated in your invoice or agreement.

 

3.4 Late Payments

Payments past due may incur late fees at our discretion.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

4.1 Cancellations

Deposits are non-refundable.
If a client cancels a project after production has begun, the client is responsible for all work completed up to that point.

 

4.2 Rescheduling

We allow rescheduling when possible, based on availability. Additional fees may apply for last-minute changes or location-specific bookings.

 

4.3 Weather & Safety

For outdoor and drone shoots, we reserve the right to reschedule due to unsafe conditions (weather, restricted airspace, etc.).

5. Revisions & Edits

Most projects include a set number of revisions, specified in your proposal or agreement.
Additional revisions may incur extra fees.

 

Revisions must be requested within 7–14 days of receiving the draft unless otherwise agreed.

6. Intellectual Property & Usage Rights

6.1 Ownership

Until full payment is received, Happy Lam Media retains all rights to footage, edits, and deliverables.

 

6.2 Client Usage Rights

Upon full payment, clients receive a usage license appropriate to the project (commercial, personal, event, wedding, etc.).

 

6.3 Portfolio Rights

We reserve the right to use footage, stills, and completed videos for our portfolio, website, advertising, and social media unless you notify us in writing before production that your project must remain private.

 

6.4 Raw Footage

Raw footage is not included unless specifically purchased or agreed upon.

7. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate project details

  • Ensure locations are accessible and safe

  • Obtain necessary permissions for filming (venues, people, locations)

  • Ensure participants understand they may be recorded

  • Notify us of any required confidentiality or restrictions

 

We are not responsible for delays caused by lack of client preparedness or approvals.

8. Limitation of Liability

Happy Lam Media is not liable for:

  • Lost revenue, profits, or business opportunities

  • Delays caused by events outside our control (weather, equipment failure, illness, emergencies)

  • Damages resulting from misuse of delivered files

 

Total liability for any project will not exceed the amount paid by the client.

9. Drone Usage

All drone flights must follow FAA regulations.
We reserve the right to decline flights in restricted or unsafe areas.

10. Podcast Studio Policies

Studio bookings at 1 Broadway, 5th Floor (CIC Cambridge) must follow all building and equipment rules. Clients are responsible for damages to equipment or property caused during rental.

11. Social Media Advertising Services

For ad management services, clients are responsible for:

  • Funding ad spend

  • Providing necessary account access

  • Approving creative or strategy recommendations

 

We do not guarantee specific results, conversions, or revenue.

12. Website Use Terms

By using this website, you agree not to:

  • Copy or redistribute site content without permission

  • Attempt to breach security, interfere with functionality, or misuse forms

  • Use the site for unlawful purposes

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last Updated” date will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services means you accept the updated Terms.
